CUA redi2PAY app not working on E6653

I had been using the CUA redi2PAY app on Z3 (D6653) for 9 months, but 3 weeks ago I moved to Telstra brand Z5 (E6653), but the CUA redi2PAY app, but now when I try to register the app for payments, I get an error message "For security reasons the app cannot be run on a rooted device".. but the Z5 is new and not rooted. I currently have an ticket open with CUA , but no luck so far. The main different between the new and old, the new is Telstra brand, where old Z3 is Asia generic, running australia language. I'm thinking the Telstra branding of D6653 could be the issue. My post today: 1) Others with Z5 have the same issue with redi2PAY? 2) Can I remove Telstra branding from my Z5 in the hope to fix it?

@craig101

Have you unlocked the bootloader?

Since this is a third party app, you have to get this addressed by the app developers.

No, nothing I have done, it came to me as a brand new mobile... is there a quick way of checking the bootloader status? thanks Craig

@craig101

you can use a PC or Mac

You could also repair the phone with PCC

PC Companion (PCC)

Bridge (for Mac)

@craig101

That's not quite accurate, what you see is if you are allowed to unlock to bootloader, it does specify anything about the bootloader status.

Hi @craig101,

I had a look at the reviews for this app in Google Play and there seems to be other reports of other users experiencing the same thing as you. Some of them are dating as far back as August which is before the release of the Z5 series. I'd suggest that you get in touch with your Local support team though, if you haven't already done so.
