I'm thinking exactly the same, so far the LG G3 looks about the best option, frustraitingly though only the 16gb/2gb model is available in the UK where as there is a 32gb/3gb model in S.Korea.

The other options are the HTCm8 or the Samsung S5, both of which whilst good don't seem to match up to the Z2

That said if these things keep breaking on a daily/weekly basis the returns alone will bankrupt sony within 6mths so there's little hope of the Z3 being any better/ever seeing the light of day!

Give it a couple of days and no doubt something will happen to it.

Thankfully my screen or back casing hasn't cracked but there are inherent flaws with my phone, mainly software/firmware and gaps around the bezel and charge dock. I daren't immerse my phone in water.

Sony are being ominously quiet about this which makes me wonder if they know about these flaws and are still selling the phone regardless. I know Sony have been in financial difficulty lately but this is getting beyond a joke.

I am waiting for Sonys' response with the issues i have, or BBCs' Watchdog will be getting an email along with threads, tweets, posts to every single social networking site available.

I maintain that this issue is nothing new since ALL brands face the same screen crack on it's own.  Do your own research and you'll get your answer.

Sony Mobile seldom respond to anyone about software/firmware since Xperia S so you just have to wait for their bug fix and if you are still on .55, you are way way behind. The latest is .402 which I am still chasing my telco for it since I am stuck at .69. A newer firmware update .438 is already registered but no news when it'll start rolling.

Somewhere in this world think that having a crack screen is cool. You may consider auctioning your crack phone to them but I doubt they would want a Sony:

Nope, my firmware is on. 402.

If Sony don't respond to software/firmware issues then why are they not responding to the hardware issues that we have?

As Mr.Nutt said, you're not bringing anything constructive to this thread, you're just brown-nosing Sony, maybe you're looking for a free PS4 or something? Tell you what, I'll sell you mine for cheap if you want it, I'll stick with my xbox one.

Really?

Are you qualified to make such a comment.  I dont think so.  Please post your qualifications so we may study them.

Whilst your at it alo look up Sonys own statements that say thay the phone should not be used in temperatures over 45 degress.  Today where I live its 47 degrees.  And yet , you guessed it, they are still selling the phone in all the malls.  Also go and look up Nickel Sulpide Inclusions. It will; explain the chemistry involved in toughening the glass, membrane stress and heat cycling.

Go study that information and post your conclusions.  With references obviously.

After much debating, I came back to Sony (last was a K800i) by choosing the Z2 as an upgrade from the NEVER FAILED ME HTC desire and One XL.

Two weeks later I am absolutely stunned that my brand spanking new Z2 has a hundred cracks on the front screen after I tried to pick it up from the wooden desk I was sitting at and it slipped to land on said desk, falling maybe 5cm.

To say this pone is extremely fragile would be a colossal understatement.

I'm so annoyed at myself for ditching a manufacturer I couldn't fault, for one that has produced such a flimsy piece of crap, just to try something different.

FROM A SONY FAN (PS3, PS4, PSP, K800i, Z2), AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

So, is Sony selling a faulty product knowing full well of the fact? Is there something we should do collectively i.e. Take this matter into legal hands?

I'm getting severly cheesed off at Sonys' hush hush appraoch to all this.

What people don't get it is simply that GLASS IS FRAGILE & BREAKABLE, no matter how tough people say it can be. Go YouTube to see how easy it is to crack a tempered glass. Just a simple tap at the corners of a tempered glass will shatter it. We want our phone to be thin, powerful, bright, colourful without producing heat when playing games. We want it also to withstand a nuclear bomb without a scratches. Dream on folks. No one up to today has amd will be able to create such a mobile phone. All mobile phone will have it's flaw. Whether you take precaution to eliminate the dangers or not. You go out and buy a expansive glass, do you just put it in a doggie bag or ask for it to be bubble wrapped? You people know that Z2 is covered in glass, which is BREAKABLE, and still choose it for what? You made a bad choice and it didn't turn out to meet your expectation, just get rid and move on. iPhone 6 is suppose to get a sapphire infused screen that is scratch proof and unbreakable. Do consider.

Sony did not say it's glass is unbreakable.
