I've got a peculiar issue that I can't find a solution to. My Sony M4 aqua has black lock screen and the only thing visible is the status bar at the top and I can't seem to interact with it since the phone is password locked.
As you can see in the pic below:
The phone boots up fine, I can see the xperia logo and the ribbon but as soon as it gets to the lock screen it all goes blank. I can still hold the power button and interact with the shutdown/restart, snapshot, or screen record menu. So the actual screen is fine and digitizer is good but can't unlock it and use the pc companion app to backup and restore the phone.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi sjpeters79,
Can you remove any SD card or SIM card from the handset and then boot it backup and let me know if the issue continues or changes?
I've done that I'm still getting the same result. I also tried to start the phone in safe mode with and without the sim card and micro sd card and it's still the same problem.
Have you fixed it yet? i removed the SIM card and i have the same result, i tried to use pc companion but i have to unlock the screen to use it so i don't know what to do :/, please if you know about something helpful let me know pleaseeee.
As a last resort, I logged into myXperia account on here:
https://myxperia.sonymobile.com/signin
And erased the phone. It took several hours to complete but afterwards it asks you to authenticate using your google account to unlock it and then you go through the process to set it back up again.
Now my phone is working again. Until whatever caused it to have that issue happens again.
