I'm using a NWZ-E464 walkman to sync podcasts using direct filesystem access on a Linux (Ubuntu) based system. (That is: copying mp3s to WALKMAN's PODCASTS/ folder structure).
With Podcasts - the device automatically keeps track of how far the podcast has been listened to: so when pause and then return to a podcast, it starts up from the correct location; the device also marks a podcast as 'new' or 'played' (lack of 'new flag).
When I look at the filesystem directly, there doesn't appear to be anyway of discerning the 'played-marker' or a 'new-flag' (or 'playcount') etc.
Is there a trick/hack to enable this information to be viewed from the Filesystem ?
It would be a lot easier to manage podcasts from (say 'gpodder') if this information was available to syncing program.
