Brand new product and Sony is unable to supply transfer software that is compatible with a Mac running Mojave (10.5).  That's some going SONY.

Don't suggest FREE Android transfer.  It works upto a point and then run out of screen availability (no scroll bars).

Hi Archer189,

Welcome to the community.

I'll see if I can find anything out for you. Maybe someone else in the community can help in the meantime.

Thanks,

I normally don't use extra apps for transfer unless I need something specific in said apps. Why not just drag and drop the tracks using Mac Finder? Should be perfectly fine.

This unit has an Android operating system and as such neither Mojave or Catalina will detect the unit when connected to the Mac, so no drag and drop. The Content Transfer utility is not compatible with Catalina.

There is a paid third party utility which can detect connection of an Android device and allows drag and drop but why do I have to purchase extra to use such a product. So much for the 40th anniversary Walkman.

Another VERY POOR showing from Sony.

Along with their non camera software for the Mac, the only solution would be to not purchase SONY products.

Hi Archer189,

I've just checked the Help guide of the Walkman and I found a method of transferring content from Mac, did you try this: https://helpguide.sony.net/dmp/nwa100/v1/en/contents/TP0002433025.html?search=mac ?

Cheers,

Rose

Yes, been there, done that. That program is quite old and is usable, up to a point. Once the drop window becomes full, that’s it. It does not scroll allowing you to add more files, so using 256Gb card holds far too much information even at high res.

the point here is that Sony are relying on other software rather than updating their own to be compatible with Mac software. Even the previous version (Mojave) is not compatible, so that two changes in operating systems not catered for.

this poor mentality of Sony carries across to their cameras as well.

This shows a small section of the Android Transfer window. Don't want to show you my poor choice of music. I can enlarge window in height to maximum of my screen and whilst I can scroll in the window using the mouse, the problem occurs when drag and drop as the window does not have sufficient space at the bottom to add in anymore files.  You can drop into another folder but thats not what I want.

Hi Archer189 ,

Have you tried using a different PC?

What do you mean PC. I’m running a Mac here. Same problem with iMac 5K screen and MacBook Pro.
