VGN-FE31H with won't connect to Internet via WIFI

This thread is being sent via my desktop and not VAIO Laptop, for obvious reasons.

I have been using Vista for sometime and have had no problems connecting to the Intenet, until now !

My laptop shows that there is a strong WIFI connection to my own router as it has always done, but nothing is able to connect to the Internet - Vaio updates, IE7, McAfee updates or any other program in the background.

I have re-installed Vista and everything is working fine. I have not knowingly changed any McAfee or laptop settings and am know at a loss.

Anyone have any ideas please ?

Hi Mike,

I assume that you have tried power cycling the router?

This does seem to be a common problem just recently and, call me an old cynic, but I am beginning to suspect a Widows update as the culprit.

You could try updating the WLAN card driver to the latest Intel release V 11.1.1.11 – No 2 on the list. Although I was not experiencing the same problem as you this driver has certainly improved both signal strength and connectivity on my machine.

If that has no affect then try disabling your security suite and try connecting again.
