I have sony vaio vgc-v2s.After updating system with recomended updates Vaio recovery utility is not recognizing that computer how a sony, that same is with vaio update.

I had the same trouble. Only solution I could find was to re-load everything from the hard disk. There is a key you press when the machine is boothing to allow you to do this when your machine isn't recognised as a Vaio. Can't remember what the key is, but I got it from the forum somewhere, I think.

Hm. I couldn't find anything in their knowledge base about this, it sounds like a bug. Just reloading everything from the hard disk doesn't sound like a very fair fix, I'd try reporting it to e-Support @ www.vaio-link.com, if nothing else they will at least be aware theres a problem with their updates. They will hopefully be able to give you a proper fix as well though my hopes aren't terribly high.

i read up and it said thate they provide no support if your original settings are not as you bought the vaio.

Try to execute the utils.exe.
