System Software re-install

With this temperature problem, I thought that maybe there was something wrong with the software, some virus....
So, I decided to re-install all the system software. But with the over heating problem, the machione shuts down after 10 min. and the install process cannot be completed. What can I do?

I doubt software will cause your computer to automatically shutdown.

The most likely suggestion is, when your computer has been active for 10 minutes, the temperature reaches a critical point forcing the motherboard to switch off.

Send it in to Sony for an under-guarantee repair.

Sorry to say this James, but the poster did say it was due to overheating and he can't reinstall.

The best thing you can do is clean out the vents using compressed air, if this fails send it in to Sony.
