Sony Vaio VGN FE41E - problems with video card driver after Windows 7 clean install

I have Sony Vaio VGN FE41E. I bought it online from Sony Style Europe about 3 years ago. It was pre order and model with Vista.
Now I did clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium. Everything went fine except that my video card isn't working and supporting Aero Glass and 3D effects. Instead of NVidia GeForce Go 7400 is Standard VGA Graphics Adapter.
I have downloaded NVidia from Downloads section from http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/updates/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-FE41E but the problem is still the same. Also have also downloaded from NVidia this driver http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winvista_179.48_beta.html but it didn't find any hardware to be install in.
It's very hard to make any updates since Sony Updates doesn't work on non OEM computers.
Is there anything else important to download from Vaio download and support section: [url=http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/updates/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-FE41E[/url] ?

Hi Pure Poison and welcome.

Try a WDDM driver from here which supports the Sony version of the nVidia Go 7400: -

http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/vista/176.37

This should find your hardware OK if you download 176.37 from this source. Other driver versions will not work without modifying the .inf

The Mass Storage Controller is probably the Flashmedia (Magic Gate/SD)Cardslot. You need to install the Texas Instruments Driver in C:\Drivers\Memory_Card. You will need to install from Device Manager by selecting the unknown Mass Storage Controller and choosing 'Update Driver' and directing the wizard manually to C:\Drivers\Memory_Card\ti21sony.inf

It looks like the camera driver is not installed properly - it is recognised as a generic USB Camera. You need to install C:\Drivers\Camera\VGP-VCC4. Just run the DPInst32.exe.

Good Luck

Thank you, that helped.

I just only have this, no .exe file to install. I found this site http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx which is Microsoft Catalog Update. What is the actual company name and model of this driver?
Thank you once again for helping me. This was my first clean install of Windows and I'm a bit confused  But it was worth it. I mean Windows 7 is really awesome!

Blencogo, do you know how to remove Windows.old folder? I tried by right click + delete but it doesn't remove this folder.

Thank you so much! I did what you have said and everything is working now as it should. Camera utility too. It wasn't difficult, but just as I said it was my first clean installation of Windows.
Thanks man! Take care
