Sony Vaio Fit 15e charging indicator light not working

Why has the charging indicator light stopped working. The orange light usually stays on during charging  and then goes out when battery is charged, but when i plug into the mains for charging theres no light at all.

Could the LED be fixed?

Is your Vaio still within the manufacturer's warranty?

If yes, have a word with Sony Support.  If no, I would ask a local PC repairer for a quote.
