Hi Cub3 and welcome.
It seems to be a Registry problem but I have only heard of it on Vista machines after downgrading to XP. However, the symptoms sound the same.
See if the solutions in this thread work for you: -

hmm thank you for the hint but it does'nt work...
i can find [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} but everytime i try to change the pin.reg and reboot my vaio does'nt start and i have to load the "last working settings"
maybe it is an driver problem??? can anyone tell me where i can download drivers newer then 5.10.4946.0 for Sigma Tel High Defenition Audio CODEC??? would be great!
yeah i just solved my problem!!!
i just had to modify the pin.reg from this post http://club.vaio.sony.co.uk/clubvaio/GB/en/forum/viewthread?thread=44938&offset=0 so that it would work with my VAIO FE21M
i'll attach my modified pin.reg file for Vaio VGN FE21M OS: XP
thanks for your help again Blencogo
