ALRIGHT EVERYONE
I OWN A VAIO VGC V2M FOR A WHILE NOW,BUT THE DVDROM DOESN'T WANT TO BOOT THE RECOVERY DISCS ANYMORE,IT'S GONE I ASSUME
I HAVE NO OS INSTALLED AND THE HDDR IS INTACT
WHAT SOFTWARE DO I NEED TO RECOVER STRAIGHT FROM PARTITION?
I HAVE READ THAT IT IS POSSIBLE EVEN THERE IS NO OS RUNNING BUT IT DOESN'T GIVE ANY CLUES HOW TO DO IT
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
Hi oldirty
If the recovery partition is still intact start up you vaio and pressing F10 repeatedly when you see the Sony Logo, this normally would start the recovery process..
thanks a lot mate,apreciated
You're welcome oldirty..
if i have sorted this stressfull problem out,did anyone replace his v2m dvd drive?if so which model i should go for to fit?
cheers and thx again
Tap F3 on boot up and then F8 to get the 'last known good configration' or if your F10 hidden partition is causing BSOD and if you have backed up on DVD your hidden partition then tap F3 on boot up and you will enter the BIOS. Use you arrows to navigate to advanced and change the bootup sequence to first boot on the optical drive and insert your recovery DVD's press F8 to save the BIOS changes and restart. Voila another way to reformat on restart. Be sure to reset the BIOS to boot from the internal hard drive after all is recovered.
