Problem with dvd/cd driver

Hi!

I've a problem with my dvd drive on my new vgn-ns21s
The problem is that with any software (nero, ashampoo etc.) the drive "freeze" and the dvd terminate with error.
Why?
What can I do?

drive is pioneer dvd-rw dvrtd08

Pls help me
