Recently bought myself a 17SD1 its giving fantastic display but when I watch DVD and move the 4ft to the sofa for that extra bit of comfort I find that the display becomes very dark and almost unviewable when movies are filmed at night.

I've moved the contrast up to 100% but this doesn't help much has anyone else had a similar problem and come across a solution

Try changing the setting in your DVD program.

You can normally also change the settings in Display - Properties - Settings - Advanced - Overlay.
