MCE Remote not working after applying Vista SP1 (VGX-XL302)

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere. Am I missing something or is there no search on the forums?

At the weekend I finally received Vista SP1 through the Windows Update Service. It applied OK,and actually seems to have fixed a problem I was having playing DVDs through Media Center.

Unfortunately, in the process it seems to have broken my Media Center remote control, so now I can watch movies but have to use the keyboard to control them (much like before SP1 when I was having to use Nero to watch them).

I'd really like to have my cake AND eat it so I'd like to get the remote working. I've googled and find references to similar problems, but no solutions.

Obviously I'd like to hear from somebody with a fix, but it would also be interesting to hear from you if a) you have the same problem but no fix, or b) you have the same model and have successfully applied SP1 without breaking the remote.

OK, so after a week of silence from support and the forums, my PC hung completely. I did a hard reset (pulled the power) and it came up and now the remote works. Yes, I did reboot several timesprior to this, but it looked like it really needed to be down for a bit. If I can ever log on to the support site again I'll close the case there.
Unimpressed by the levels of support though.

I don't think anyone (including Support) know why these things happen and then cure thrmselves after a few boots.
