How to stop My Club VAIO programme running automatically on my computer

Dear VAIO mates,

I have got a simple problem. As soon as I start the computer, the programme my club VAIO starts/runs automatically. I dont want this. I want to run it on demand I mean, when I need it. Is there anything I can do something like change the settings? I will appreciate your help. Thank you.

Hi dussacu1

welcome to Club Vaio..

You should be able to stop My Club Vaio.exe from starting if you go to start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks..

Right click on the MCV entry to dis enable..

Or

Depending on your Vaio model Sony has also recently released a Startup fix for My Club VAIO, check out the download section for your Vaio here.

Making this a sticky because I'm sick to the back teeth of seeing this topic coming up again and again.

Thank you Sir. I have sorted the problem with the advice you have given. That was very easy and made me to realise how ignorent I was. My windows Vista is in German so it was difficult but I made it. Thanks once again for your quick reply and sorry for the delay in replying. All the best.

In my version of vista, in task scheduler there is an item called task scheduler library that brings up tasks and there I found launch MCV. I read the help menu and you just click on it and then go to action (on the menus at the top) and select disable and low and behold it has eventually gone.

I actually ""deleted any tasks that mentioned MCV launch. However MCV still launches everytime i start the laptop !
Also if i go back into task Scheduler, I get the following error messages each time i click OK:
"MCVSurveyReminder4. Error message: The specified account name is not valid." Click OK.
"MCVSurveyReminder3. Error message: The specified account name is not valid." Click OK.
"MCVSurveyReminder2. Error message: The specified account name is not valid." Click OK.
"MCVSurveyReminder1. Error message: The specified account name is not valid." Click OK.
"MCVSurveyReminder. Error message: The specified account name is not valid."

Oh dear, please help, it all seems a mess now!

I guess Sanyo has better to remove MCV from the scheduled tasks, OR provide the user with a simple button "Do not run at each startup" ! Then, if the automatic start up is disabled, the button might be changed into a "Run at each startup" so that the user can easily re-eneble the service if he wishes.

This will make life simmpler for all of us while still allowing those who wish MCV to start each time they log on to continue enjoying it.

If Sanyo monitors this forum, they may like to implement this in future editions ...
