Hi Folks,
Having just purchased an RZ104 with the new funky combined DVD-/+RW drive  , I am a bit puzzled as to which media I should go for - I have, currently, an old Sony DAVS300, does anyone know which format to record my DVDs onto???
Thanks
Keith :smileyrolling_eyes:
Keith,
Try getting a trial DVD writing pack from cdr-media.co.uk, then you can see which is the best for your drive.
Hi Keith,
your drive writes and reads them all, DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW.

From my experience I suggest you go for DVD+ which creates less problems with stand-alone video DVD players.

There is a basic rule of thumb on the use of the different media:
DVD+ is very good for use with PC-data, because it allows open sesions, which means you can simple add data throughout different sessions, until your DVD is completely full.
DVD+ in the record-editing-mode is quite compatible with standard DVD-players, though DVD- is more compatible with thoses DVD-players in the DVD-recording mode.
Since DVD- doen't allow open sessions, the use for data is not that good as it is with the DVD+
Hope that helps a little,
David
Try looking on www.vcdhelp.com
They have listings, made by users, of every DVD player out there, almost, and what it can and can't do, even down to the brands of media they work with best
Have a look, its a good site.
