Automatic updates don't work anymore

Hi!
VAIO Update used to tell me automatically every time there were new updates available and I could easily download them. This stopped working, and when I click on the icon in the task bar an error message comes up (MessageID 0008) saying that information about my VAIO model can't be found on the server and I should try again later. Is this normal?!

Sony have released a patch that hopefully should resolve the MessageID=0008 (model not found on server) problem..

The VAIO Update 3.1.02.03190 patch can be downloaded via the Sony support download page, use the following link then select your model in the drop down list to download the update: Sony Support Downloads
