Audio & Video issues in Windows Vista

Hi folks,

how's everybody? Hope all are doing great!
Been facing this issue recently. Got my VAIO AR31E, came pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium. Worked fine (cuz of my patience i say so) till now despite of the several endless unsudden crashes that occurred so far, mostly the internet explorer and the malfunction of the built-in motion eye camera. I tried recently also to playback some online movies and trailers but the Windows Media Player in the javascript (that pops on whenever you try to playback an online movies/audios)keeps downloading some audio and video codecs (don't ask me what the are codecs, cuz it never shows the names on that mini screen)then when it completes 100%, after a few secs gives an error message stating unsucessful installation and downloads. I also Wanted to have a voice chat with a fellow friend on Yahoo, after waiting a few secs, Yahoo! Messenger gave me this familiar error "this computer doesn't support the required audio compression format!". No wonder many of new Windows Vista users are having the same problem. Checked Yahoo! Help site Yahoo! - Chat - these instructions were written there to solve the audio code issue:

"Cause: Yahoo! Chat is unable to locate the DSP Group TrueSpeech audio compression (codec) software on your computer.

Solution: The DSP Group TrueSpeech audio compression (codec) software is usually installed as part of Microsoft Windows. Please follow these instructions to install and enable the TrueSpeech codec (make sure you select the correct set of instructions depending on whether you are using Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT)."

They didn't mention anything regarding Windows Vista. Now where shall i find this codec? I want to use the built-in mic too. Any ideas??

Another issue is the using the built-in motion eye camera on both VAIO FZ & AR series.
Once you open it with Yahoo! Messenger to broadcast yourself, it works fine for the 1st time, then when you stop it and open again it never works again till you restart your PC, says your webcam is being used either open or being used by another application. patch to solve this issue? I'll be highly grateful (I honestly started to hate Windows Vista, XP is far better than it, now i understand why lot of people have complaints and switch back to the old stable platform )
