A friend of mine has the Sony KD-55XG7073 and now has a PS5. It has automatically set itself to 2160p but we're unsure about HDR10 compatibility. So far the console is on it's auto settings in the video section. If HDR is selected it says connected device (TV) not compatible and offers 1080p. Towards the top of the PS5 video section in device info it does say TV 2160p up to 60Hz and the TV pop up info bar says 2160p. According to the TV specs online it's compatible with HDR10 and HLG. We tried a YouTube HDR video and there was no pop up or indication of HDR, although YouTubes own resolution shows 2160p HDR@60Hz.
I'm confused as to whether this TV is compatible and how to display it? I know HDR impact on this low nit TV won't be great but still we'd like to see it.
Hey,
I'd say make sure that the HDMI signal format is enhanced for sure: https://bit.ly/3tqmCwQ.
Also in the supported video signals it doesn't mention anything specifically related to 2K resolution: https://bit.ly/3qXs7Ci.
Cheers.
