I can only seem to bring up Sony's webpage when trying to connect with the rest of the internet. Can anyone tell me how you type in an alternative web address on this model tv?

Try this..

When on the Browser page click options on your remote & scroll down to URL entry..

Then you can type an alternative URL address..
