Firmware update v8.605 - impossible to connect without factory reset every day.

After this firmware update the TV won’t stay connected to the internet. Once disconnected, it won’t even find the router when trying to reconnect. You have to factory reset the TV, every single day. This has basically resigned the TV to useless.

It's a KDL-43WF663, I believe Linux.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi aprofile,
I think you will need first to confirm that the version that he TV is running on is v8.605. You can get the version by pressing Home and going into customer support in the Settings menu.
Also, did you try to do a power reset by taking the TV off the mains for few minutes.

Thanks for your reply. The problem might have resolved itself. The TV has been connected overnight, and it didn't do that before. How strange...

It hasn't been resolved, I was mistaken. I've tried a full reset, taking out the plug and it's connected again, but it doesn't seem to want to stay connected. We have two Sony TV's in the house. I believe they are the same model, the other a newer purchase. That's having no problems. The software version is v8.605-1000-2.700-0002.

Have you tried connecting it via Ethernet cable or using a mobile hotspot?

I'll try a wired connection and see if that works.

If it doesn't, a hotspot will be your next best bet since it's going to be a completely different network (in case the issue is not the WiFi module).

You can not connect on any other wifi because tv can not find any wifi network. I have same issue. Also when I press red button what is for page up or page down in guide tv make reset to factory defaults. With update to 9605 tv become trash, and after update to 8609 unuseable trash. This two things i use very often, probably other issues exist also.
