I have 2 old TVs - KDL20S4000 & KDL26S3000 - as of this morning (1st Jan 2021) the reminder function on the EPG stopped working. When I try to set the reminder I get an error message saying "This event data is invalid". I use the reminder function a lot to plan my viewing. How do I get ***** working again?
Mine's 2.5.512
No slots of any kind on the back of my KDL-15G2000 D.o.m. 12/2006 in Slovakia
Actually, having found the manual I discover a CAM slot as mentioned, and an unmarked and unmentioned slot parallel with it.
Yes, on the side. cam & Sony memory stick port under a rubber cover.
No guarantee Sony would use them for user update though.
My TV: KDL 32P3020 software 2.12.105
There could be variation in the latest patch due to Model & country region.
A mí me pasa lo mismo desde España con un televisor de 20 pulgadas Sony kdl 20s4000. Mi número de firmware es 2.15.600. Espero que pronto Sony lo pueda corregirlo.
Dice: Los datos del evento no son válidos.
I also have this problem for the last week or so, is there any fix for this, please?
A feature we rely on heavily, very sad to see this bug occur on our KDL32S3000.
I suspect Sony will never fix this given memorysticks are the only update method.
I got this problem too with my Bravia KDL-40D3500 purchased in 2008. I raised a case with Sony about a week ago and have had no response yet. For me it upsets my method of recording programs. I have had an analogue HDR recorder for ages. When we went digital (and hence timed recording of analogue signals no longer served any purpose) I figured out that if I used this feature (that now does not work) on the TV to record a program and at the same time set manually the start and end time on my HDR I could still record programs! I have been doing this for years and have extended the useful life of my HDR. Now all I can do is actually have the TV on if I want to record something which is not so convenient. I shall wait to see if I get a reply from Sony for a bit but I suspect I might end up purchasing a digital HDR. This will save me time anyway since I will not have to set the time twice to record something.
This problem has been ongoing without a resolution in sight. If people in the UK could adopt the following ; then by sheer volume of numbers we might get SONY or FreeView to do some thing. So if you have this problem then
1) Register it with Sony Customer Support ( 0207 365 2810 ) and ask for a case number ID
2) Check with FreeView Help Desk ( 0345 505050) that they are aware of the problem and ask for a case ref number for your specific report.
Perhaps if they are inundated with enough calls , it will shake them out of their INERTIA
I've been on twitter where they say they're aware of the problem & are working on a fix...
Can't see how they can deliver any solution - no usb port on my set & updates used to come via analogue signal!
Have registered with them, will wait and see!
