Can we set xperia j to keep giving text alert every so often until a txt is read?

no, you will need to find an app on the play store to do so, if it's an MMS it will mark you if the mms has been delivered but not read.

Thanks for your answer. I checked play store and found quite a few apps and have selected "Easy Reminder" which does all I asked for and more.................Thanks
