Xperia ion support quick charging by default but you need to use the original quick charger EP850 and the included cable EC480 to get it working.

Quick chargers sold separately are called EP851.

I'm not a Sony staff, but I don't think they support quick charge inherently. There are scripts that allow you do quick charge if you have rooted your phone.

I tried searching for "EF850" but I couldn't find anything related with charging.

Ah I see, let me clearify a bit.

From what I understand, quick charge means to charge through the 120V outlet instead of through a computer's USB. You can run a script on your phone to make the USB act as a "quick charge" which means the phone thinks the USB is an outlet power supply. I believe, you run into the problem of not being able to transfer data during "quick charge". This is what I thought you were trying to do.

However, in your case the charger is taking power from the outlet so I believe the phone automatically goes into a "quick charge". Try charge it though the USB and then charge it through the EP850 and compare the speeds. I believe the EP850 charges the Xperia S in about 1.5 hours, so it should be the same for the Ion.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
