Xperia M screen generated a bright white spot

Hi,

I brought my new Xperia M dual phone through online from Amazon.in. on Oct 16. But within no time the phone generated a white bright spot on the top of the screen. Took it to the Sony service centre here in hyderbad with a service request & the guy tells me the screen can only be repaired & we are not providing any replacement, as it been 20 days old. we can replace only if you bring it with in 7 days. Then i asked where the F--k its been writen in the warranty card that it shall be brought with in 7 days for replacement. Then the guy told me to raise the service request for the same. Request no. 13103001861. Hoping you  are not allowing me to go to consumer court. First time feeling ashamed of buying a sony product, as i cant show it to others.

I have the same problem too.My XPM got the white dot at the centre of screen. How to fix it?

I think that was a regular problem because I got same white spot in Xperia M display but after some hours that was disappered automatically. That will be a problem from Firmware. Try to check display using some screen tester from Google play.

On my screen all of a sudden has appeared a white bright spot surrounded by a balck circle. The spot can be moved around with your fingerso it does not seem to be related with pixels or anything like that. 

More to do with a link to another screen of Common app on a black screen.

It just came up all of a sudden and I would like to ask if there is any way that you clould et rid of it, maybe by going into Settings and cancelling something or altering something on the Developer otions?

Same problem with my Xperia XA. Bright spot came automatically. Went to service center they told me that they need to send this phone to main company department and they will see and check the problem and they will let me know that if it covers under warranty or not and this will take approximately 15—18 days..
