This is my third M5 with problem until a buyed in march... i really dont want the same again
My wife's M5 has been returned to service center 3 times due to various problems and twice related to the touch screen:
I asked the guy from the service center what might be causing the touch screen failures -- and he said it's possible that the phone might be getting pressed by heavy pressure when inside a bag. It's possible, but I'm quite skeptical. Three failures related to internal phone parts in 8 months? I wonder if the unusual heat the phone generates has more to do with it.
I'm now having the same problem as this one. Bought the phone last sunday (June 19). Used it til yesterday (June 24) and it was perfect. Was using viber. Placed the phone down and when I came back, the touch screen isn't working anymore. I tried restarting it and even using the PC Companion and made a software repair. Still isn't working. Left it turned off for about 5 hrs. Restarted it and the touch screen started working again.... for a while. Then now it's not working again. It hasn't been dropped, no cracks, the screen and the back are still smooth, minimal water contact. I really don't know what's happening. Everything is working fine except the touch screen. If anyone has a solution, please feel free to share. The phone has been fantastic so far except now.
I had the same issue . I bought the phone past 17 days from flipkart ( Sony M5 Dual Gold ). The problem must be because of pressure exerted on it along with temperature . If the phone gets heated by using an application and if any sort of pressure been exerted on it , the screen goes off. So its better to give it to sony service centre . This issue may be resolved but some other issue will root into the phone later. Sony phones cause lot problems . Iam a fanboy of sony. But now it makes me worried.
Initially I had battery problems . The phone gets too hot like a heater when I use even a small application and the battery gets drained superfast. Actually this issue had been resolved by a Marshmellow update. Then phone works properly for few days . Then one time, a new issue rose up. The touchscreen suddenly goes off for no reason. I have to wait 5 - 10 minutes for the phone to work properly. Even If unlock button is pressed , the screen will not show up. I restarted the phone. Even I hard resetted the phone twice. The issue has grown Big only. The screen goes empty or black when 1) Phone vibrates
2)Alarm rings
3)Top left corner of the screen gets touched hardly
4)Driving bike keeping the phone in pant pocket
Iam a fan of sony mobiles. I had Moto G4+ in my option. Now it makes me think that i should have bought Moto.
This problem of the Xperia M5 touch screen freezing is not a fault with the phone. It is easily rectified on each occasion by allowing the devices battery to totally discharge. When it is then fully charged again, the screen is no longer frozen.
So, why is it that at times the Xperia M5 is working perfectly and then the screen freezes yet again?
If you go to Settings, Apps on your Xperia M5 and choose any of the listed apps, you will notice at the top of the screen the words DISABLE & FORCE STOP. With some of the apps in the list, for example, Clock, the word DISABLE is very faint and not available for use. When the phone shuts down with some of your apps still running, then FORCE STOP occurs and causes the screen to freeze. This will not happen if apps you are not using are closed. If the battery is low and the phone suddenly shuts down with apps open, then FORCE STOP can occur, causing the screen to freeze.
I hope this is helpful to you and will solve this problem with your Xperia M5.
Il touch non risponde adeguatamente e capita che agisca da solo anche in assenza di pressioni. Capita quando poggiato su superficie o se nei pressi di PC. Qualcuno sa cosa può essere?
The touch does not respond properly and happens to act alone even in the absence of pressure. It happens when it's on the surface or near PC. Does anyone know what it may be?
