I'm unable to change my screenlock pattern in settings . It says settings had to close.

I'm sorry to hear about this.

I'd recommend that you start with resetting the settings application in your phone and see if you are able to change to the desired screen lock when this has been done.

To do that, go to Settings > Apps > 3 dots > Show system > Settings > Storage > Clear data > OK. When you have done this go back and try changing your screen lock.

If you receive the same message, try rebooting your phone in safe mode and see if you are able to change the screen lock when third party applications aren't loaded.

Thanks. I am faceing same problem. I truned on my cell phone in safe mode, then i set new screen lock. After restart in normal mode and checked lock setting, it is working properly. Now problem solved.

I can't change my tipe of unlock password, when I try appears a message saying "settings has been stopped".

Hi @Dario077, sorry to hear about this.

Have you tried any of the troubleshooting that I have suggested previously in this thread? If you haven't, I recommend that you start with clearing the app data for the Settings application.

To do that, go to Settings > Apps > three dots in the top right corner > Show system > Settings > Storage > Clear data > OK.

You can also try and reboot your phone in safe mode if the troubleshooting above does not help.

Hi @HassanZ, welcome to our forum and I'm glad to hear that you are interested in purchasing an Xperia M5!

You may experience that the device turns itself off and restarts on it's own if you have for example, a faulty SIM card in the device as the device will automatically reboot if it the physical connection between the device and the SIM card is lost. This is however not a fault with the device, this is intended behaviour and the SIM card can easily be replaced as it is not working as it should if you experience these type of restarts.
