NOTES:

  • Only one Bluetooth audio device can be connected to the TV at a time. It is possible to connect Bluetooth devices other than the Bluetooth audio device at the same time.
  • The codec used when transmitting the Bluetooth audio device is SBC (Sub-Band Coding) (LDAC, AAC, aptX, eSBC, etc., are not supported.)
  • Depending on the TV app used or Bluetooth audio device connected, some app operations performed from the Bluetooth audio device may not work. In such cases, please use the TV remote control to operate the app.

For other Bluetooth devices, if the device supports A2DP, it is highly likely that it can be used. However, Sony does not guarantee the operation as a manufacturer.

In the event of issues, such as no sound coming out even when using applicable products, refer to the following FAQ:

There is no sound from the connected audio device.
Check the following.

  1. The sound volume of the TV or connected device may be low. Check the volume level of each device.
  2. Check if the input of the connected device is set to Bluetooth.
  3. The Bluetooth connection may be unstable. Perform the following steps.
    1. Press the Home button on the remote control.
    2. Press the Settings.
    3. Press the Bluetooth Settings in the Network & Accessories category.
    4. Disconnect the connected device from Registered devices, and connect again.
  4. Reset the connected device to the factory settings. For details, refer to the manual of the product.

Sound from the audio device is interrupted or is not synchronized with the TV screen.
Check the following according to the symptom.

When sound and images do not synchronize

  • This may occur depending on the connected Bluetooth device.
  • Set AV Sync to Auto or On. (Except for A1 Series)
    Perform the following steps.
    1. Press the Home button on the remote control.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select Sound in the TV category.
    4. Select AV Sync, then set to Auto or On.

      NOTE:
      • If set to Auto: When connecting to an audio device, it will reduce lag between the audio and video. (Excluding when Picture mode is set to Game/Photo/Graphics.)
      • If set to On: Always reduces lag between audio and video. In such cases, make sure to place a wireless LAN access point far from Bluetooth devices or the TV, or place Bluetooth devices close to the TV.

When sound is interrupted or noise occurs

Sound may be affected by the connection status or radio wave environment. Main causes may be the followings.

  • Placing a wireless LAN access point close to Bluetooth devices or the TV.
  • The Bluetooth devices and the TV are too far apart.
  • A microwave is in use.

If the symptom is not improved, try a wired connection with HDMI or analog cables.

Sound echoes.
This may occur when connecting HDMI and Bluetooth at the same time. In this case, disconnect Bluetooth and connect to devices with HDMI only.
NOTE: For a stable connection, an HDMI connection is recommended.

The volume of the Sound Bar cannot be changed by the TV remote control.
The volume cannot be changed by a remote control of other devices depending on the Sound Bar model. Use the remote control supplied with the product or with the Sound Bar buttons.

This may also occur when connecting HDMI and Bluetooth at the same time. In this case, disconnect Bluetooth and connect to devices with HDMI only.
NOTE: For a stable connection, an HDMI connection is recommended.

An audio device connected via Bluetooth is not turned off when turning off the TV.
Connected devices cannot be turned off from the TV. Turn off the connected devices manually.
NOTE:Depending on devices, you can use the function to turn the power off automatically when no signal is detected.

The Sound Bar cannot be connected via Bluetooth.

If the Sound Bar and TV are connected using an HDMI cable, they cannot connect via Bluetooth because the HDMI connection has higher priority. Disconnect the HDMI cable before trying to connect via Bluetooth again. The following SONY Sound Bars can be connected via Bluetooth. Connection with other products is not guaranteed:

  • HT-SF200, HT-SF201
  • HT-XF9000
  • HT-ZF9
