I bought a HP laser jet 4250n printer and downloaded the driver on my sony vaio, on attempt to print I found out that the PC isn't recorgnizing the printer driver. I contacted HP and after all effort to ratify failed they said the problem is from my PC as it is saying the driver isn't compatible the hardware.
Can anyone advise what I should do?
Chris
Hi Chris,
Did you already resolved the issue with your printer? If not, please tell me what is your operating system and if it is on 32 or 64 bit.
You can find this info's by:
First Method:
- right click My Computer -> Properties and you'll have like "Windows edition" and "system type".
Second method (if you don't manage with the first one):
- if the start button is rectangle (with "start") is Windows XP
- if the start button is round is Windows 7
- if the start button is square is Windows 8
- to find out if it's 32 or 64 you can go to My Computer -> Local disk (C:) -> if you have only one "Program files" it's 32 bit, if you have "Program files" and "Program files (x86)" then it's 64 bit.
You can choose which method do you want to follow. I look forward hearing from you.
