Hi,
I have SONY handycam HDR-SR10E. I didn’t find a socket to plug-in the external audio input in to the handycam and I need this for live recording. I don’t want to use the camera (inbuilt) mike as it captures the surrounding noise. If the standard feature is not available for this model, can you help me on how to make it please? Thanks in advance.
Hello chennupati - Welcome to the Sony Forums
On this camcorder, you can attach an external microphone by using the Active Interface Show (AIS) which is located on top of the camera. When you attach a device to this, it takes power from the camcorder itself.
For the HDR-SR10E, there are some compatible external microphones listed on the Sony website:
http://www.sony.co.uk/product/hdd-avchd-hard-disk-drive/hdr-sr10e/accessories#tab
You will see that there are both wired and wireless options available.
Thanks,
Simon
