DCR-HC14E Camcorder to PC
Hi.
I have some old MiniDV tapes on a circa 2004 DCR-HC14E Camcorder. It looks like I can import them into my Windows 10 PC by adding a FireWire card and installing the legacy FireWire drivers. I was then hoping to use PlayMemories Home to import the tapes, however I saw that the DCR-HC14E is not included on a list of compatible camcorders with this software (https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00022457), even though on the support page for the camcorder it allows me to download PlayMemories, suggesting that it would be compatible. I therefore have two questions:
- Is the camcorder compatible with PlayMemories, or perhaps another Sony software such as Picture Motion Browser? The link above is to Sony USA, so perhaps it doesn't apply to the UK?
- Would this whole setup work? Would my PC recognise the camcorder?
Many thanks in advance,

FireWire no need Drivers.
The latest release of PlayMemories Home can't import for a Tapes Camcorder.
Use this program, WinDV:
