TV Guide changes appearance?

Hi all,

purchased a new Bravia 7 in December and after a software update, I had what I assumed was a new TV guide. It has blue sections for programs which have already started, a bar to the left for settings, favourites etc and a small screen of the existing TV program at the top right. This randomly switches to the old guide format though and I can’t understand why.

TIA

Sony TVs usually come with the choice of two TV viewing modes using two different EPGs.

There is Live TV & Catchup, which is YouView and the EPG is blue, or there is TV which is the default Sony EPG

which is usually black and white and will allow you to set recordings if you have an USB HDD attached to the TV.

You can select which one your TV uses by pressing Settings on the remote,

then Settings onscreen> Channels & Inputs> TV Button Shortcut> Digital TV.

Select your preference, come out of Settings, now press the TV button on the remote.

The TV will now use the EPG you selected, press the guide button on the remote control to view.

The TV should remember this until such time as you decide to change it, the fact that you are saying it is auto switching is unusual.

Are you sure there isn't someone in your household that could be changing this setting whilst you are out of

the room.

Hi,

Thanks for your informative response! I live alone, so it’s doing it by
itself. I appreciate your input!
