Sony KD55-XG 9505

I purchased above mentioned tv on May 16, 2020. It was a "brilliant" change in our lives as the colours and clarity were outstanding. Excellent brilliant colours, clear lines a reason to watch tv and enjoy it especially 4k videos on youtube, apps from the tv, until about 1 month ago. The colours have lost brilliance and the images have "noise". I tried to find every possible solution to the problem unfortunately without any result. I tried settings, connection through android box with HDMI, checked the speed of internet connection which was ok but no result. I called the customer care of Sony who suggested some settings but none of them worked and in the end a technician from the authorised service of Sony in Greece visited me. The technician after having tried the settings I had made too, said he sees no problem with the colours. I expected a technician with a tool case who would eventually try to solve the problem in a more professional way i.e calibration of the screen. Instead he left leaving me with the problem. Trying to find a solution by myself I made a factory reset, the tv is updated with the last version and all the apps are updated too. Has anyone any further suggestion on this? thank you!

Hi,

 

Usually the picture mode is sett to brilliant" by default which shows very bright and colourful pictures.

Maybe you accidentality changed to a different picture mode.

Dear Peter, thank you for your answer. I have tried everything including your suggestion. As mentioned I have done factory reset of the settings for brilliance. Please note that in the beginning by 4k watching there was no need to adjust in brilliance mode. I do not know whether youtube or other applications have reduced the resolution or my tv has a problem with the colours.

Hi, is your TV up to date? Which version do you have? Do you have the issue on streaming apps only? If yes try a personal hotspot and see if that makes any difference. Also, if you can add photos that would be great.

Yes, I have updated with the latest version (PKG6.5016.0631EUA). I tried the suggested personal hotspot but there was no difference. The problem is not only on streaming apps but also with HDMI ports. Attached you will find photos. The 1st picture is 4k video from youtube and the 2nd is a picture from a Greek pay tv channel in 1080 progressive resolution. As mentioned, when I bought the tv all above images were brilliant and without noice with settings in "brilliant".

A new update was released earlier today (v6.5042), try installing it.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately the problem still persists even though the update with the newest version has been taken place.

this is clearly a some kind of a fault. Has nothing to do with any settings. Don't think that panel itself can make this, so probably something that processing picture.
