Issues with latest firmware update AG9 V9 2020

Sharing our experience and issues with the AG9 since the update to V9 4.9.125. Dec 2020.

The main issue for us is the confirmation banners! Every time we change the "quick settings" display settings, to adjust brightness or picture mode, a confirmation needs to be accepted to change power consumption. It's really annoying as we use this feature a lot, theirs no way to turn this off?

Asking for a pin when we want to watch prerecorded age restricted content, even though we didn't set a pin, and the option to use a pin is set to off.

The Freeview EPG keeps losing channels from the list and requires regular retuning even though the auto update channel list option is on.

The still unresolved issue with the satellite EPG software. Causing us to have to buy a separate Freesat box to make use of the built in satellite receiver on a TV that already cost us £2000!

Any help with these issues is much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

There's a new firmware that has been released a few days ago:
https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/oled-tvs-android-a9g_ag9-series/kd-55ag9/downloads/000171...

Can you please install this version and check if it fixes some of your issues.

Cheers

Peter

One thing I want to point out here is that those warning you're getting have been added to comply with the EU health and safety regulations. I don't think they're going anywhere, anytime soon.

Thanks for your reply. I've looked through the list of fixes on the update and the issue with power consumption confirmation isn't listed. Some other stuff is though. Thanks

Thanks for reply. That's a nuisance! It asks for confirmation every time I adjust the picture mode and again when changing brightness level.

It happens while using the quick settings panel, which negates it being a quick setting anymore!

I hope they change this. They could move the confirmations needed, to a check box in the main settings. So we don't have to accept every time?..

Cheers
