FIRMWARE UPDATE V6.7140 (SONY AG8)

Hi All,

Ever since above update I have a few issues with my TV, 

While watching TV the TV will randomly reboot and take a few minutes to come back to life,

Watching Dolby Vision content and there is a flickering/changing of colours (mainly whites flipping to a light pink) and dark scenes getting darker or brighter.

 

I have tried to clear cache etc and no joy, I don't believe a factory reset is going to fix this issues either

 

Does anyone know if Sony is working on a fix for these issues?

I have an outstanding support call with Sony regarding Dolbyvision 'sparkles/flickering' on HDMI3.

 

I've switched to using HDMI2 which displays dolbyvision fine.

However, I now have to use an optical cable to get sound to my AV amp because only HDMI3 is ARC capable.

 

Lets hope Sony are fixing this with the new firmware.

Cheers for the message, most dolby vision we watch is through supported Apps built in like Netflix etc. 

Quite distracting so I agree I hope sony get an update out ASAP.....

My ‘internal’ dolbyvision through Netflix is ok, but we watch all our content through an external NVidia Shield.

The TV just cant display dolbyvision properly from the Shield, but only when using HDMI3. Bizarre.

Hi, did you try updating your TV? Also change the HDMI format to enhanced.

TV is on most recent firmware.

HDMI setup for 'enhanced'

 

I've started a new thread for my issue thanks.

 

The only thing that fixes the HDMI3 'sparkles/flickering' with Dolbyvision is a hard reset. However within a week or two (of only using TV standby) the sparkles return.
