Can u fully delete ADULT channels from TV guide (not just blocking their use) on Bravia KDL-50W807C

It seems you can enter passwords so the ADULT channels cannot be seen by youngsters...but I do not even want them on veiw to kids..anyone know how to completely remove them from showing in the TV guide listings..as u can do so on most other TV's??

  • Just select the channel and press the ENTER(OK) middle button on your remote control and say Yes.
  • As rooobb said you can permanently delete those channels at Digital (DVB-T).
  • But, you cannot do that for Satellite channels. Even if you delete them, even if you disable automatic DVB-S channel update, those deleted, inappropriate channels, COME BACK, re-appear themselves automatically and re-arrange themselves automatically.
  • Sony is informed but have done nothing yet for more than six months.

You can delete them and switch off the automatic dvbt service update (otherwise they will show up again): did you do it?

Didn't try myself but it should be possible via programme list edit in the digital setup menu

Hi,

I use the satellite as I'm in Ireland and I am finding this to be the case, they keep coming back, the adult channels.

Worse still I can't delete channels 1001 and 1002 which are nothing short of hard pornography.

They don't show on the satellite list but are on the TV.

They are one press of the the remote away from BBC 1. so can be easily accessed by kids accidently.

I DO NOT want this thrash on my TV.

Please can anyone help solve this major problem?

Hi

No you cannot.

This is a serious issue that Sony DOES NOT CARE.

I have reported this in the past:

https://community.sony.gr/t5/android-tv/atv-firmware-update-19-july-2016-problems-and-issues/m-p/221...

https://community.sony.gr/t5/android-tv/what-about-parental-control-sony-bravia-programmers/m-p/2150...

and the answer was to Parental Lock those channels. This is not the solution because a Satellite Service Provider usually adds new channels on every TP(Transponder) that he uses and there is no sense to every day check if an ADULT channel was added at the end of the list. A child could accidentally press the PROG(-) button and view this channel. Free Satellite adult channels are not "hard" but they remain adult channels for a 10 years old child.

The problem is that AUTO service updates are not really SET to OFF, or there is something that has to do with YouView privileges:

https://community.sony.gr/t5/android-tv/has-anybody-ever-tried-to-disable-force-stop-youview-and/td-...

I have seen this kind of problem also in a German forum:

https://community.sony.de/t5/fernseher/bravia-kdl-w756c-speichert-immer-wieder-geloschte-sender/m-p/...

Sony Engineers must give an option to completely disable YouView background apps(YouView and YVServiceHost) to check if this is the cause of the issue.

I know this is the wrong forum for my EU country Greece, but Sony account automatically connects me on UK for issues. There is no Greek Sony forum.

I have the KDL43WD755.

I use the satellite as I'm in Ireland and I am finding this to be the case,(getting rid of the adult channels) they keep coming back.

Worse still I can't delete channels 1001 and 1002 which are just short of hard pornography.

They don't show on the satellite list which is why I can't delete them but are on the TV.

For the same reason I can't seem to use the parental control function on these 2 channels.

Oddly these 2 channels contain more than one channel each.

Sounds strange but this is the case.

They are one press of the the remote away from BBC 1. so can be easily accessed by kids accidently.

I DO NOT want this thrash on my TV.

Please can you help solve this major problem?

Hi there @Frady1

Sony havnt fully got their head around some of these issue and bugs on the Android TV range yet - especially the Satellite users.  I/we are all hoping that they will do with the Marshmallow update (yet to be released).

In the meantime, I will specifically report this problem to Sony in the hopes that they can explain when this will be fixed or if they know of any work-arounds etc.

When I get a reply, i will post back.

Cheers
