Loose hinges

Hello,

Are there any easy ways to tighten up the hinges on my laptop (VGN-FS215Z)?

The screen wobbles and it's getting a little annoying.

Hi EBraddles,

I've looked at this exploded diagram , it looks like the hinge forms part of the LCD housing..

You could contact Vaio-Link for further advice or take your Vaio to a local repairer in your area for there opinion..

I’m uncertain about the FS series but with the models that I am familiar with there is no way to tighten the hinge mechanism. The problem is usually the reverse and in this instance lubrication can help.

I have a feeling that you will need to purchase and fit new hinges

Hi,

Have you managed to obtain the new hinge? If so, can you advise where from?

My problem is that one of the hinges on my VGN-AR11S go jammed and as I was closing the lid the hinge broke in half. Therefore, I am currently desperate to find a replacement hinge.

Have a look at Nexttronics , they are a US based company but they do ship worldwide..
