Call me stupid,but does anyone know if the VGN-BX51vn has a a PCMCIA port? It looks like there is one, but when i tried to use my flip disk nothing happened and the part you slot into the pcmcia port does not even go in completely. Anyone please?

Hi www.sierra-aviation.com and welcome to the forum.

As far as I can tell from the specifications for you model it does not have a PC card slot.

It does however have a ExpressCard/54 Slot which you may be confusing with a PCMCIA slot.

Full spec for your model can be viewed here .
It seems that earlier models such as the BX396XP do have a PC card slot.

Thanks but i thought the ExpressCard and PCMCIA were compatible which obviously are not. So I have to find the usb lead. Thank you foryour help.
