This is because the primary IDE Channel reverts to its PIO mode instead of using DMA. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the IDE channel but after about 30-60 mins it reverts back to PIO mode again. I have also tried surpassing this problem by adding ResetErrorCountersOnSuccess in my registry but nothing seems to work. Should i recover my laptop? Can anyone help me out with this cause i really can't use my laptop for just about anything with PIO mode.
