hi guys, i restored my FZ11Z back to factory default by using the hidden recovery partion, windows and the essential driver have installed. but every time windows starts, a message comes up asking if i want to recover the apps, (sonic stage etc), which i DO not want at this time and it just seems to just slow down the machine n installs crap.

how do i stop this message from coming up each time windows starts?

i looked in the services and startup via msconfig, but i cant see anything relating to this?

Hi Flexing,

The usual answer is to stop VARU.exe on the msconfig Startup tab, but see whether this thread provides further help...

Hi Flexing,

You should be able to stop Vaio Application Recovery from starting if you go to start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Task Scheduler..

In task scheduler you should have three windows, Overview of Task Scheduler, then below this Task Status and finally at the bottom Active tasks..

In task scheduler go to the bottom section of the centre column (called active tasks)

Double click Vaio Application Recovery or possibly VARU.exe and in the new window select delete...
