Excessive heating

Hi,

I have my vaio for 3 months now, and its heating excessively. I only have to keep it on for about an hour and its impossible to touch the back of my laptop. Please help...:-)

Hi Nush24 and welcome to Club Vaio.

What model Vaio do you have?

Try downloading PC Wizard 2008 and let us know what the Processor, Graphics Chip and Hard Drive temperatures are. This should give us an idea of what is overheating.

I presume the fan is working OK?

Hi there, thanks for the quick reply. yes the laptop fan is working and because it was heating up so much i have an external fan plugged in as well.

But i did like you said and downloaded PC wizard. I am not very good computers and i am not sure which info you need exactly, so i am going to give you all the data related to temperature :smileygrin:

ACPI thermal zone: 75 degrees
Processor temp core 1: 73 degrees
Precessor temp core 2: 73 degrees
GPU temp: 76 degrees
Hard disk: 45 degrees

These are the temperatures without the external fan.

And my laptop is vaio model VGN-FZ21S
