Change Harddisk in VGN-SZ1VP??

I want to change the harddisk in my Sony Laptop SZ1VP.

Can anyone tell me how to reach the old Harddisk?

DO i have to remove the keyboard?

Hi Timo,

Yes you must remove the keyboard and the hard disc is under the palmrest.

If you PM an e-mail address to me, I will send you the whole manual. It is 3MB so I cannot attach it here.

Thank you v. much Blencogo for the manual, had a quick look and looks promising.

Just wondering do you happen to know the disk type inside this sony SZ1VP? I'm pretty sure it's SATA but cannot confirm this even after trawling google and sony's support site.

Ideally what I want to do is take a 320gb, 2.5" SATA disk from an external WD drive and change it with the factory installed 120gb - but can only do this if the drive interface is SATA, right?

Also like to perform afresh install of Win7 that I've purchased and is currently installed on the said laptop but on current drive, would this be a problem if I go ahead and install it again on the newer harddisk (re: activation)?

Yes, the drive is SATA
