VGC-LT2S and Vaio Update 3

Hi everyone,

I am having a problem downloading this util, my Vaio hard drive died so I had to replace it, I managed to download everything and get everything working but I can't get hold of vaio update 3, I can get the update for Vaio update ahhhhhhhhh!!!! but not the program itself, I did find one on the net but I think it's a us version so doesnt really work it gives the old error message about "Your model information could not be found on the server. Please try again later. (Message ID=008)" I did install the update that fixes this but still no joy

anyone have a link for the uk version which will work on my Vaio

Hi n1cks21,

I'm guessing that you have installed your own version of windows, if so unfortunately the Vaio update utility is not available to download..

yes it's one I purchased but it's the same version as what was installed......

The only way to install Vaio update on your laptop is to recover your system back to the the original Sony supplied OS.

You can manually download and install SOME of the updates for your Vaio using the following link: LT2s updates

really ??? and thats the only way ??? obviously I dont have the OS as it was only on a recovery partition on the broken drive so I have paid for a new hard drive, paid to have it fitted, paid for a new OS, paid to have someone install it and now your saying I have to pay £60ish for the discs from Sony and then pay someone again to install the OS so I can get Vaio 3 update working ??? ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Yes if you want vaio update 3 on your laptop but I wouldn't bother if your Vaio is working ok..

If however you want all of the pre-installed application, Vaio update, etc and you didn't create a set of recovery disc's then you'll have to purchase set form Sony..
