Thanks for answering, friend. I honestly do not think we can do much to solve all these problems. They are the people of Google or Sony (do not know which of them) who should launch an update correcting all these errors. I hope that is so. My big doubt is, assuming that this last thing does not happen ... There is some way to install again the version 7.1.1 that I had before, with Xperia Companion. So I want 8.0 if 7.1.1 worked much better. So far the advantage of having 8.0 with respect to 7.1.1 is ... None! I suppose that Sony or Google will have some systems that notify them of the problems that users are having so that they can be corrected in a new update. Greetings and many thanks!

Jorge Iruzubieta

Hello how are you?
Since I upgraded my Xperia X to Oreo I noticed two problems:
1- The charge of the battery discharges more quickly and I get the impression that the device heats up more.

2- The network signal is unstable and is lost in places where it previously worked well.
Anyone else feels the same?
Sony will solve these problems?
Thank you very much.

Jorge Iruzubieta

Hi. Me again. I must add to the two previous points a third problem that I locate with Oreo. Wi-Fi is unstable. The signal level fluctuates constantly and the data transmission speed increases and decreases constantly. All the aforementioned signal problems, both data through the telephone network and wi-fi were detected while the phone was in the same places I always frequent. My house and my work. I hope Sony solves this because sincerely with 7.1.1 nothing of the above mentioned happened. Thank you very much.

Jorge Iruzubieta

Hi. It's been over a week since I upgraded to oreo, and in addition to your problems, I face many more problems with the update. The alarm notification remains there even despite dismissing it, unless I restart the phone. Battery drain and network issues are similar to those you face. The accuracy of lifelog has also deteriodeted. This contacts app does not allow for contact to be linked in bulk. As a result, for every contact, duplicate contacts are shown (one for Google contact, one for whatsapp.. My contacts are a mess. Sometimes, the caller name is also not displayed because lf this.

I called to the customer support to report the bugs, but the pathetic executives knew nothing, and have asked me go for softsoft repair..

Totally with you man. Let me know if you find something better to bug fix

Thats what it is. They are not planning a bug fix since they believe there aren't any bugs to fix. The Sony people will work on it (since Sony has made some modifications over the Google's oem release. Had it been a problem in Google release, it would have affected all users on oreo) , provided they know what to do. The system of reporting bugs is via beta testing and customer feedbacks, and through none of these media can I get the bugs registered.

I also asked them about rolling back, and they said it isnt possible.

I think I will have to live with this unless they read the forum and realise they need to bug fix

So, what you say is that it is not a problem of Google but rather of Sony and that Sony is very possibly working to solve the problems in a possible future update of Oreo?

From Androidpolice:

With any major OS release, in spite of rigorous testing and numerous developer previews, it's not uncommon for random issues to arise. Some users who've updated their Pixel or Nexus devices to Oreo have discovered an annoying bug whereby the alarm in the Google Clock app simply isn't going off. And that's a pretty big problem if it's the only alarm app you use.

A reader emailed us to say that their Pixel alarm clock has been inconsistent since updating to Oreo, with alarms set to less than an hour ahead sometimes going off and those set further ahead never going off.

It is a pity that it takes a long time before fixes land, but it will be resolved, that's for sure.

Another problem I have is with the camera. Before I could take pictures very often and now, with Oreo, if I take two followed by the third the image is frozen a few seconds. This occurs in 23MP. It does not happen in 8MP. To all this, Sony does not give signs of life.

I recieved and installed a patch a few days ago (o2 in the UK). Was hoping the WiFi issue would be sorted but no dice. It's actually now quite unusable. It's connects for less than a minute and drops for the next three or so ands repeats this cycle. I've tried resetting the router and deleting the networks and reconnecting. Pretty frustrating.

Only other issue is the battery is discharging a little quicker than usual.

In my case the back camera stopped working, which is especially annoying because the camera was the main reason why I chose to buy a Sony phone.

I tried deleting camera app cache and storage but nothing helped.

If there will be no fix soon this will for sure have been the last Sony phone I ever bought.
