My internal memory was running low and some how my contacts have been removed. All my contacts that were saved to sim are still there It seems that any that are saved to sd card have disappeared. How do I get these back.

When your contacts are synced in Google they will be synced back on your device as if by magic.

Check if syncing is allowed in settings->users &accounts

Great suggestion, @Bec_6100 you can also check on your computer, access your Gmail > tap on the left side ribbon > Contacts

Or even easier, on your computer access
