Took out my SIM card and tried to play audio or audio related apps but same problem continued. Used Xperia Companion which reinstalled my software but the problem is still there.

I know there is no hardware damage to the phone as I have never dropped it or something.

I know all phones are different but it would really help me if I can find some common ground with other's experience of having trouble with their android phones. So this is whats wrong with my 2 year old Sony Xperia Z3,
- Most apps on my phone makes my phone so slow that it hangs and automatically reboots my phone.
- When I try to make a call same thing happens as I mentioned above.
- There is no sound that comes from my phone, No alarm, or if someone calls. If I try to play songs it gets slow and reboots.

I have tried to do a factory reset but the problem is still there. On my phone I can only stream videos or text and that's pretty much it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi @Flemeth, welcome to our community!

I'm sorry to hear about the troubles with your phone.

Is it always the same application that makes your phone slow and it eventually hangs? If you have an SD card in your phone, are all these apps moved to the SD card or are some of them stored on the internal storage and some on the SD card?

If they all are stored on the SD card you could please try and move some of them back to the internal storage and see if you experience the same behaviour? To move the application back to the internal storage go to Settings > Apps > Name of the app > Change > Internal storage.

If you experience this behaviour with pre-installed application I'd recommend rebooting your phone to safe mode. Does the phone slow down and hang in safe mode as well?

While the phone is rebooted to safe mode try and make a few calls and see if you are able to complete them without the phone rebooting.

You can also try the speakers in the phone in the inbuilt Diagnostics test that you find in Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Loudspeaker / Ear Speaker, is there any sound coming from either speaker during the test?

Does the phone continue to get slow and hang if you remove the SIM and/or SD cards?

Let me know how it went!

I have no SD card so everything is on the internal storage. I did try run on safe mode but its the same problem, my phone hangs and reboots itself. I also did the diagnostics but I don't hear anything from the speaker.

Thanks for the update.

Was there any difference if you remove the SIM card from your phone? If not I'd recommend performing a software repair using Xperia Companion.

This will delete all data stored on the internal storage so it's important that you backup your data first backup using Xperia Companion.

When the software repair has been completed, try and use the phone for some hours before restoring the backup. This is to make sure that no data in the backup is the cause of the hanging and rebooting.

Keep me updated!
