Quickcharge™ MM firmware bug?

Hey ppl,

Anyone noticed «charging rapidly» message isn't displayed on the lock screen even when quickcharge 2.0 charger is used?
Well, I wouldn't mind it doesn't show this message (though it should) but this message is perfectly displayed on Z3 tablet compact running same 6.0.1. I have a number of different QC 2.0 certified chargers, tried them all on Z3c but I only get «charging» instead of «charging rapidly», while Z3 Tablet Compact is always displaying «charging rapidly» no issues there.

Bonus: The most weird thing it's that if I'm using magnetic cable with Z3c, connected to QC 2.0 charger it shows «charging rapidly». Must be firmware issue, it's messing with values/wrong string that kernel is obtaining..

Quick chargers used: HTC, Aukey, Samsung, LG.

P.S. This also should be passed to Sony devs

have you tried booting up in safe mode?

I observe that some 3rd party themes doesn't display this message.

@alexdon this clearly points that there's indeed a firmware issues since you can't get a situation where magnetic charger does support QC 2.0 and standard USB cable isn't. Getting deeper into the issue with measurements, USB cable does charge device quicker than magnetic cable even though it doesn't shows «charging rapidly» message on the lock screen. Additional measurements shows that it's charging Z3c at the similar rate as Z3 Tablet Compact.

@nolramlb I'm using stock Home launcher, also tried beta. I'll try safe mode, though I doubt it'll change anything since it appears it's kernel related
