Auto Software Updates

Hi all
I have switched off auto updates in Google Play but there are some from Sony that still auto update and I can't seem to stop them. Support and What's New for example have updated today automatically, and Music did the same recently. Why do these apps still auto update and can they be turned off? I ask because on a couple of occasions I have lost contacts after these updates.

Those apps are not google play dependant, they are in direct relation with the software update app. Music update comes from google play, but what's new, support come from the software update app.

What @alexdon said it's correct, I still don't see any correlation between your lost contacts and the music app update

I'm not trying to get the contacts back now, I'm just wondering if the Sony updates can be switched to manual as well and if so, how?

They cannot, sorry. You can force the software update app to close but after a restart the updates will be back.

Simple

Settings > about phone > software update > menu > settings > Automatic settings > Allow automatic updates "Do not update automatically"
