Lost the data after an update

HI, I updated my phone Xperia z1 but after the update all data was lost and my latest Android version is showing 5.1.1 and build number 14.6.1.236
I tried restoring the data but there is not a single option to do that
Please suggest how can I restore the data

Normally, an update should not affect personal data, it is clearly stated. Are you sure you haven't also reinstalled software using Xperia Companion?

No, I haven't used campanion for the update. I updated my phone yesterday and today it automatically restarted and all my data got erased.

That should not happen and I am sorry to tell you that you won't be able to recover anything if no backup has been made.

I made the back up in "back up and restore" Application but I can't restore anything. Could you pls tell me where should I make back up?

You can try to backup using xperia companion.

Hi,

I have found one backup file in my sytem but Xperia Companion is not able to read it. Backup was done using PC Companion 2.1. Please suggest

You can try to install an older version of PCC.

I already have PC Companion 2.1 but I can't access it as it is asking me to update . I got installation error everytime I tries to update that

Backup file should be compatible with XPC, unless it's corrupt. You should also check that you aren't logged on your guest account on the phone.

Looks like corrupt backup file to me, does this error show up in XPC?
